Marwa Serry

Program: MA in Audiovisual Translation
Class of 2017

Marwa Serry is a second year student enrolled in the MA in Audiovisual Translation program. Marwa chose to enroll in the MA in Audiovisual Translation program because of “the uniqueness of this program in the Middle east and the specialized information it provides”. Before enrolling as a student, Marwa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science. She used to work in HSBC as a VIP Relationship Manager and is currently employed at Qatar Investment Authority as a Personal Assistant.

Marwa loves to read books in her free time. She enjoys reading Khaled Hosseini’s books such as ‘The Kite Runner’, ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’, and ‘The Mountains Echoed’. She is also a Harry Potter addict! Marwa finds her happiness in travelling; she has visited Greece and The United Kingdom, and she would like to visit Paris, Spain, Italy, and Portugal one day.

Marwa is a passionate student. She is looking forward to working in the field of accessibility especially after her and her colleagues’ success in translating the Doha Film Festive movie titled “The Idol” into an accessible movie for special audiences.
