Open-Rank Professorship in Women Studies:

Hamad bin Khalifa University is inviting applications for Open-Rank Professorship in Women Studies with an emphasis on an application of either anthropology, sociology or political / social sciences approaches, towards a Middle Eastern context.

Essential Requirements

-A doctorate in the humanities or social sciences.
-Publications record commensurate with the rank being applied for.
-University level teaching experience.
-Demonstrated research or teaching experience in digital humanities.
-Fluency in English.

Preferred Requirements

-Knowledge of Arabic will be considered as added value.
-Experience with obtaining grants or research income.

Open-Rank Professorship of Digital Humanities and Societies

Hamad bin Khalifa University is inviting applications for Open-Rank Professorship in Digital Humanities and Societies with an emphasis on either cultural studies, digital culture, or media. The MA in Digital Humanities and Societies program offers two specialized tracks: a) Digital Humanities, and b) Digital Cultures and Social Studies in the Middle East.  Applicants with doctoral degrees in digital humanities are preferred. The college seeks candidates that can bridge the interrelations between digital mediums and various social studies which include culture, film and media, journalism, religion, history and philosophy, gender, and geo-politics amongst others.

Professor in Translation Studies:

Hamad bin Khalifa University is inviting applications for the assistant/associate/ and full professor position for the Master of Arts in Translation Studies program. This post offers an excellent career opening for a specialist in Translation Studies within the broad development of the CHSS/TII. The professor is expected to teach a range of core and optional modules on various areas of translation studies, supervise and mark student dissertations and projects. S/he will conduct research on translation and/or interpreting and publish regularly in high quality regional and international outlets. S/he will participate in developing curricular, working closely with other degrees within the college, and working with stakeholders to ensure providing new opportunities for students’ internship.

The successful candidate will ideally be a distinguished scholar in the areas of translation studies or closely related fields and will have a professional experience and contact with the translation industry. S/he will be committed to research, with a completed doctorate and a strong or developing record of publications. The candidate should be knowledgeable of the latest translation technologies, methods and techniques. S/he needs to be fluent in English, and preferably Arabic.
