  1. Check in at the Conference registration desk at QNCC
  2. If you've pre-registered for the event, show the confirmation email to the registration team. If you've not pre-registered, the team will assist you on the spot. We recommend that you pre-register for a faster check-in process.
  3. If you're planning to attend the professional workshops or movie screening, you need to confirm your attendance with the registration employee during check-in as the seats are limited. We confirm attendance at the registration desk on a first come first serve basis.
  4. Some sessions will be broadcasted live through HBKU YouTube Channel, press on the "click here to attend" link in the confirmation email for the live feed.
Interpreting:

Seminar: Translation and Creativity in Arabic: Modes, Limits and Dynamics, by Dr. Mahmoud Alhirthani

This seminar discusses the concept and the practice of creativity in Arabic/English translation at different levels of lexis, structure, and style in literary and non-literary productions. It explores different modes creative translational practice (e.g. formation, deviation, recreation) and focuses on the dynamics of creative acts in translation and the constraints that restrict them. The seminar will first provide an overview of the topic and will then delve into authentic examples of creative translation. Participants will be encouraged to contribute to the discussion and to dialogically sketch out the foundational, current and future trends of creative translation.
