Why study Spanish?

Why study Spanish at the TII?

  1. Qatar Foundation-HBKU.The Spanish language Program of the TII is part of the CHSS of HBKU, in Qatar Foundation and is the best place to study Spanish in Qatar. Established in 2014, the language program offers up to 10 levels of Spanish language and keeps educating generations of Qatari people and expat residents in Qatar. 
  2. Diversity of courses and schedules.We offer day, evening and Saturday classes in our comfortable facilities in the heart of Education City. We offer affordable Spanish language classes, short mid-term courses, children courses, as well as cultural enrichment courses.   4. Communicative approach.At our Spanish language program, we are keenly aware of the fact that our students are primarily interested in verbal communication and although we teach all four skills, our emphasis is on speaking and listening skills. We want to fast-track you to your goal. Students will be exposed to Spanish language since day one, immersed in a friendly environment.
  5. Certificates. The TII offers Spanish language in-house certificates of attainment based on guidelines set out by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Created by the Council of Europe, this framework has set the bar for language capability assessments throughout Europe and, indeed, much of the rest of the world too.

Beginner 1 (40 hours) Beginner 2 (40 hours) A1 After successfully completing these two levels, the student will receive an in-house certificate towards CEFR A1.
Pre-Intermediates (40 hours) A2 After successfully completing these two levels, the student will receive an in-house certificate towards CEFR A2.
Intermediates (40 hours) B1 After successfully completing these two levels, the student will receive an in-house certificate towards CEFR B1.
Upper-Intermediates (40 hours) B2 After successfully completing these two levels, the student will receive an in-house certificate towards CEFR B2.
Advanced 1 (40 hours) C1 After successfully completing these two levels, the student will receive an in-house certificate towards CEFR C1.

 

  1. Cultural activities. Because of our commitment to the promotion of the Spanish language, at the TII you will have access to a wide range of Spanish cultural activities happening in Qatar, such concerts, film screenings, cultural quizzes and many more.The TII offers not only Spanish classes but also expands on Hispanic cultures all over the globe, partnering with the Spanish speaking Embassies in Qatar.
  2. Library. Students have full borrowing privileges at the TII Library, where you can access to a wide range of Spanish language books.

About Arabic:

Arabic is a prestigious language with a long rich history! It has been the medium of many outstanding contributions to the development of science and culture, from the literary treasures of the pre-Islamic poets through to the pioneering research of the Muslim philosophers and mathematicians during the golden age of the Muslim civilization, to the novels of Naguib Mahfouz, the Nobel laureate. Put it simply, the modern world wouldn’t be what it is today without the footprint of the Arab culture.

Nowadays, Arabic is one of the world's great languages spoken by more than 400 million people distributed across the Arab World, from Qatar and the UAE in the east to Morocco in the west and from Syria and Iraq in the north to the Sudan and Somalia in the south. Not only is Arabic distributed across the Arab world, but it is spoken in parts of Iran, Turkey, Chad, Mali and Eritrea as well! It is the first official language in all Arab countries as well as being something of a lingua franca of Muslims worldwide. Being one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, it is not surprising that Arabic is one of the 6 official languages of the United Nations. Arabic has a graceful script, a magnificent style and a rich vocabulary that give it a unique character and flavor among the world languages!
