HBKU Graduation Ceremonies (2014- 2017)

Class of 2014:

For the first time since its inception, QF Convocation included a graduation ceremony for the Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Class of 2014, and its first batch of graduates included five students of HBKU’s Translation and Interpreting Institute.

Class of 2015:

In the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2015. The ceremony introduced 122 new graduates into the accomplished community of HBKU alumni. Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser was among the graduates from HBKU’s Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies, graduating this year with a Master of Arts in Public Policy in Islam. The Class of 2015 included 14 students from HBKU’s Translation and Interpreting Institute and boasts representatives from 25 countries.

Class of 2016:

In the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), and Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of QF, 111 students from the Class of 2016 become Hamad bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU’s) newest graduates at a ceremony held at the HBKU Student Centre on 1 May. This year’s class has 55% Qataris, an increase from 48% in 2015, and includes 16 graduates from the Translation and Interpreting Institute. The graduating students were joined by 700 people at the ceremony including their families and friends, and faculty and staff of the university.

Class of 2017:

On 30 April, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) celebrated the graduation of its largest class to date. The university conferred degrees on 148 graduates in the presence Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairperson of QF, and Chairperson of HBKU’s Board of Trustees.

HBKU Class of 2017 is significantly larger than last year’s 111, and is almost double the number of students of its first graduating class in 2014. This year, 18 students graduated from the Translation and Interpreting Institute.
