Overview:
This workshop aims to raise the level of writing among administrative affairs’ managers and staff in various institutions;, to help them carry out their administrative duties professionally by producing correct sentences free of linguistic, grammatical and composition errors, and to equip them with the skills to edit official letters, administrative reports and meeting minutes in a professional and distinctive style, providing them with the required knowledge and basic skills of functional writing in Arabic.
Structure:
To achieve the desired objectives, the workshop is divided into four parts:
- Aspects of Writing Control: This part addresses the problems and challenges sometimes encountered by staff when dealing with the language issues of administrative writing (I think the definite “article” is not required as the structure parallels that of “academic writing/business writing/medical, etc.)
- Grammatical structure of administrative writing
- Basic rules of spelling
- Punctuation
- Common linguistic errors in administrative writing
- Writing Administrative Letters: This workshop reviews the necessary skills required in drafting administrative letters.
- Definition of administrative letters
- Types of administrative letters
- Main parts of administrative letters
- Skills for administrative letter writing
- Selected samples of administrative letters
- Minutes Writing: This workshop presents the theoretical and practical aspects of minutes writing.

Methodology:
Based on academic frameworks which combine theoretical and applied aspects in accordance with the basics of the Arabic language, this type of workshop adopts the following learning methods:

Learning Objectives:
- Build/develop the participants’ skills in interpreting;
- Conduct live interpreting exercises using a variety of audio-texts;
- Introduce participants to note taking;
