Korean Course Descriptions
This course is designed for students who have never learned Korean before. The Students of the beginner level are to learn how to write and read the standard Korean Alphabet (Hangeul) and how to build up from a single letter to a syllable. The aim of this course is that the students enable to speak basic Korean sentences through the diverse way in knowing Korean sentence structure and configuration.
Learning objectives
After having finished this course, you will:
Be able to write and read all Korean characters
Be able to know phonetic value and characteristics of syllable structure
Be able to learn basic Korean words and configuration
Be able to learn basic sentence structures that are essential
Be able to acquire the ability of greeting, self-introduction, and other conversations
Pre-requisite: No prior knowledge of Korean for this course is required.
This course is designed for students who mastered Korean alphabets already.
The emphasis is to develop proficiency in communicative skills. We concentrate on the application of the living language taught through dialog, phonetics and vocabulary. A strong grammar foundation and other basic language skills are taught through actual phrases and sentences. This course will help the student develop an instinctive sense of the correct usage in Korean. These objectives will be achieved through the following approaches: speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural studies.

After having finished this course, you will:
Be able to learn informal-polite sentence ending used to make statements or ask questions in the present tense.
Be able to know various particles which are essential in the sentence.
Be able to acquire a little more complicated conversation for everyday life such as talking about the location, asking dates and days of the week, ordering food at a restaurant, and buying items.
Be able to describe your past experiences.
Pre-requisite: Elementary 1 or equivalent.
We offer a 20-hour beginner course Korean Beginner 1 in Spring 2020 as our newest language program at TII. This course is for students who have never learned Korean before. Students are to learn how to read and write the standard Korean Alphabet (Hangeul) and how to build up their Korean language knowledge from simple alphabets and syllables to greetings and self-introduction in the target language. The aim of this course is to enable our students to speak basic Korean through diversified practice in class and our class group on the Internet.

Course Description & Objectives
This is an intermediate level class for those who have already taken Korean Beginner 1 and 2 classes. This class consists of 20-hour planning for developing 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It mainly covers more advanced expressions in daily life, such as explaining your daily life in Korea, talking about travel experiences, health, and food, etc. Each lesson deals with pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, dialogues, and actual activities for applying to real life conversations. Many practice drills and conversational practices are covered through interaction between friends in class. Also, it deals with various real-life expressions from K-dram related to each lesson. Through this course, you will be able to communicate in Korean with more advanced expressions, express your opinion in Korean in more diverse settings and explain Korean culture. The ones who want to learn advanced Korean with more ease and fun are very welcomed!

Course Description & Objectives
This is a course specifically designed to improve communicative competence in real life. Pre-requisite for this course is completion of Korean Beginner 1 or 2 or knowledge of Basic Korean – Hangul and basic conversational expressions. This class consists of 20-hour planning for developing mainly speaking and learning vocabulary and grammar from context. Each lesson consists of learning and using K-drama scripts and applying them in your life. Many practice drills and conversational practices are covered through interaction between friends in class. Through this course, you will be able to ultimately speak and use Korean expressions just like Korean actors by practicing their lines from the K-drama. K-drama lovers who want to speak fluently and ready to practice with fun and passion for learning are welcome!!
