With 274 million speakers, French is a widely spoken language in the world. A total of 84 states and governments are represented in the “International Organisation of La Francophonie, and among them Qatar”. French is also a language of considerable cultural dimensions and a gateway to the arts and sciences. In fact, French helps shape disciplines ranging from international relations, literature, and philosophy to cooking, fashion, theatre, dance and architecture. French is also a language of international business, higher education, travel and tourism. And it is the 4th language on Internet. 

French is often the second learned world language, after English. Learning French gives a definite advantage to your children’s future personal and professional development. French acquisition is an opportunity for children to use during travel abroad and may even pursue learning it beyond their initial exposure to French.

The best way to achieve fluency is an early start and we can help you achieve that goal. We can help you communicate in French while learning about the unique aspects of the French culture.

Our French language classes for young learners are highly interactive and level appropriate. They learn to understand and express themselves in French while being immersed in an exciting journey into the French speaking world. They learn and practice the language through a wide range of activities including songs, games, crafts, music, drama and art. Our curriculum follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and it is structured around the needs of each age group according to their cognitive development and their personal interests.

Young learners are able to greet, say their names and ages, introduce their close family, answer simple questions about themselves, have basic short interactions about basic actions. They also learn to understand and use everyday French expressions. They practice French skills using a variety of activities including games to start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in meaningful but limited interactions. At this level young learners are able to answer simple questions about themselves with more accuracy, and describe their basic actions and interactions. They are able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions within basic conversations. Various topics are introduced such as face and body, clothing, food and beverages. The class is conducted in a relaxed and approachable atmosphere appropriate for their age. 

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of French is expected.

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course with specific changes in curriculum to take into account the difference in age and cognitive development and abilities. Learners in this class will have an additional set of support with more writing and reading tools. They greet and introduce themselves and others. They are able to say their names and ages and have basic short interactions about where they live, people they know such as family and friends, things they own, actions they do and they will be able to express likes and dislikes. They practice mainly the listening and speaking skills and are also introduced to the French alphabet. Various topics are introduced such as face and body, clothing, food and drinks. This class will be slightly different with expected learning outcome that include more memorization. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age. 

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of French is expected.

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course with specific changes in curriculum to take into account the difference in age and cognitive development.  Learners in this class will have a class component with a focus on writing and reading French. The class is conducted in a stress-free atmosphere but certainly includes some personal responsibility in the learning and revision of the content. Students practice mainly the listening and speaking skills, learn the alphabet and are introduced to short reading and writing signs encountered in French speaking countries. Students begin to learn French using visual support, listening activities, writing tools, and relevant materials in real life situation. At this level, students knows how to greet, introduce themselves and others such as their close family, ask and answer questions about themselves, their names, ages and backgrounds. They are able to have basic interactions about where they live, people they know such as family and friends, daily objects. Various topics are introduced such as face and body, clothing, food and drinks. 

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course with specific changes in curriculum to take into account the difference in age and cognitive development.  Learners in this class will have a class component with a focus on writing and reading French. The class is conducted in a stress-free atmosphere but certainly includes some personal responsibility in the learning and revision of the content. Students learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases. Various topics are introduced such as physical description, clothing, and menu items. Learners develop listening and speaking skills as well as their reading and writing skills. Using various activities, games and relevant materials, they begin to understand the language in its cultural context and to engage in short interactions. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age.

French Beginner 2 part 1 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 1 part 2.

In this class, young learners are able to greet, exchange information in a conversation. They also learn to        understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases. Various topics are introduced such as modes of transportation, weather forecasts, seasons, and additional action and descriptive verbs. Young learners  practice a wide variety of oral skills, using a variety of activities and relevant audio/visual thus start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in short interactions.

They practice listening and speaking skills using various activities, games and relevant materials in order to start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in interactions. The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age.

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 1.2 or have 60 hours contact-class in French Language.

French Beginner 2 part 1 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 1 part 2.

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course but due to the difference in the children’s age and cognitive development, students in this class will be taught differently and will accomplish more. In this class, children learn how to ask and answer in simple conversations, the face and body parts, the clothes and food and drinks. They also learn to understand and use familiar expressions and phrases. Various topics are introduced such as transportation, weather, seasons, more clothing options and a variety of grammar and verbs structures.Students practice mainly the listening and speaking skills. Using various activities and games and relevant materials, they start understanding the language in its cultural context and engage in short conversations. The class is conducted in a stress-free atmosphere while maintaining age appropriate expectations. 

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 1.2 or have 60 hours contact-class in French Language.

French Beginner 2 part 1 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 1 part 2.

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course but due to the difference in the children’s age and cognitive development, students in this class will be taught differently and will accomplish more. In this course students learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and phrases. New topics are introduced such as the face and body parts, their clothes, food, beverages and they are able to express likes and dislikes. At this level, students practice oral skills, learn the French and are introduced to French reading and writing. Using various activities, games and relevant materials they begin to understand the language in its cultural context and to engage in short conversations. Other topics are introduced such as transportation, weather, seasons, more clothing options and a variety of verbs structures.The class is conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere appropriate for their age.

Prerequisites:This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 1.2 or have 60 hours contact-class in French Language.

French Beginner 2 part 1 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 1 part 2.

This class is similar in content to the above-listed course but due to the difference in the students’ age and cognitive development students in this class will be taught differently and will accomplish more.
In this class student revise how to greet, questioning and answering in conversations, the face and body parts, the clothes and food and drinks. They also learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and phrases. They practice mainly the listening and speaking skills and are introduced to basic reading and writing. Using various activities, games and relevant materials they begin to understand the language in its cultural context and to engage in short conversations.

New topics are introduced such as the transportations, the weather, the seasons, more clothes and various action verbs. The class is conducted in a supportive atmosphere with age appropriate challenges. 

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 1.2 or have 60 hours contact-class in French Language.

 

French Beginner 2 part 2 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 2 part 1. 

 

In this class children review, strengthen the Beginner 2 part 1program. Our young learners learn about new topics such how to conduct conversations with wider topics, express time, place and locations; discover Paris city using visuals, plan a trip and talk about vacations. They learn about sport, music and expressing feelings. They understand and use common daily expressions and new sentence structures about different topics. They practice listening and speaking skills using various activities, games, relevant visual and kinetic materials in order to use the language in its cultural context and engage in interactions. The class is conducted in a fun, friendly, and motivating atmosphere appropriate for their age.

In this level, students will complete the A1 Level of the Common European Framework of reference for languages. 

Prerequisites:This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 1.3 or have 90 hours contact-class in French Language.

French Beginner 2 part 2 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 2 part 1. 

At this level, our young learners acquire the Beginner 2 level content and how to engage in meaningful conversations, with wider topics, express time, place and locations; discover Paris city using visuals, plan a trip, talk about vacations, learn about celebrations within cultural contexts. They understand and use common daily expressions and new sentence structures about different topics. They practice listening and speaking skills using various activities, games and relevant visual and kinetic materials in order to use the language in its cultural context and engage interactions. At this level, students develop their French language skills so that they can begin experimenting deeper with speaking, reading, writing, and listening through a "Communicative Language Teaching" method. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. Students also use various activities to practice French conversation including listening tasks, role-plays, and discussions. Students start communicating comfortably in most common situations and enrich their everyday vocabulary. At this level, students develops their fluency when talking about their interests. Students also use a variety of activities to learn functional French to use outside with French speakers. The class is conducted in a fun and engaging atmosphere appropriate for their age.

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 2.2 or have 120 hours contact-class in French Language.

Pre-Intermediate 1 part 1 course continues the Beginner series and builds upon Beginner 2 part 2. 

At this level, students develop their French language skills so that they can begin experimenting deeper with speaking, reading, writing, and listening through a "Communicative Language Teaching" method. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. Students also use various activities to practice French conversation including listening tasks, role-plays, and discussions. Students start communicating comfortably in most common situations and enrich their everyday vocabulary. At this level, students develops their fluency when talking about their interests. Students also use a variety of activities to learn functional French to use outside with French speakers. The class is conducted in a fun and engaging atmosphere appropriate for their age.

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have taken Beginner 2.2 or have 120 hours contact-class in French Language.

If your child speaks French already, or follows a French School curriculum this class is tailored made. Native and heritage speakers will love this class. The theater course is designed to introduce students to various forms of writing, such as short fiction, nonfiction or poetry. The class consists of acting techniques and discussions, reading assignments and writing assignments that encourages creativity and imagination. Students will present their work to the entire Language Center by on stage in order to expose all the community to the class production gain. Participants are introduced to the concept of a writing workshops. This course encourages the participants to think about the quality of their writings and improve their skills as the work progresses. 

Students learn about characters, dialogues, voices, style and description in fiction. In this course the will be having the opportunity to improve their oral skills by acquiring confidence in their enunciation. Learners can dig deeper into selected short works of fiction and develop their own written narratives. 

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who study in the French Curriculum or French natives studying in international curriculums. 

This description is valid for the ages of 5/6, 7/9, 10/12, and teenagers. Due to the difference in the children’s age and cognitive development, the skills remain the same, but the approach will be different in each age rang class (see the timing in the table for each age to choose the right class for your child).

At this level, sentences become slightly more complex. New native expressions are also introduced to help speak in the near future and in the past. Students can understand frequently used sentences and several expressions. They will be able to understand questions and answer them. They can read more easily a wider range of topics and differentiate a present tense from the past tense. For reading and speaking, learners can use complex expressions related to everyday routine matters and also some challenging subjects such as actuality. They can describe their activities in the past and talk about their projects in the future. 

At this level, students will understand isolated sentences and frequently used phrases related to immediate priority areas. Young learners can communicate during simple and usual tasks requiring only a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and usual subjects. They can describe their immediate environment and evoke subjects that correspond to immediate needs. 

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have passed the Pre-Intermediate 1 part 2 level, or equivalent 

Textbook: No textbook is used during this course. The instructor brings relevant materials to class.  

In this course, young learners will go more deeply into the French language and expand their repertoire of expression to move towards fluency. They acquire sufficient linguistic competence to understand and use daily expressions frequently used in any part of the French-speaking world and to interact on a basic level with native speakers. After taking this course, they will be able to talk about past and future events, elaborate on their likes and dislikes and start giving their opinion.

At this level, young learners will focus more on the listening and speaking skills in situations to engage freely and communicatively with the language.

The class is conducted in French, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Students practice all four language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing - with a greater emphasis on listening and speaking. This is achieved through various activities as well as games, role-play, and authentic and quasi-authentic materials in order to place the language in context and engage in a wider range of conversations and situations.

Prerequisites: This class is best suited to students who have passed Pre-intermediate1 part1 level or equivalent.

Young learners will be able to understand different questions and answer them. They can read more easily a wider range of topics and differentiate a present tense from the past tense. They will discover the French language and deepen their understanding in a practical and fun way. This level will allow developing written and oral skills to communicate with French speakers in a wide range of real-life situations.

Children will also be able to describe their immediate environment and talk deeper about subjects that correspond to immediate needs. 

This class will help students to discover French culture and give them confidence in their practice of the language.

The session is conducted in a stress-free atmosphere but certainly includes some personal responsibility in the learning and revision of the content. Students practice mainly the listening and speaking skills, learn the alphabet and are introduced to very short reading and writing signs encountered in French speaking countries. In this course level, students know how to greet, introduce themselves and others such as their close family, ask and answer questions about themselves, their names, ages, and backgrounds. They are able to have basic interactions about where they live, people they know such as family and friends, daily objects. Various topics are introduced such as face and body, clothing, food, and beverages. 

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of French is expected.

 

This conversational course focuses on communication skills. Students will practice all the topics they took during the beginner levels through a variety of fun activities, including role-play and replicate situations. 

In this course, students will expand their knowledge to express themselves with more fluency. Learners will understand and use the daily expressions used in the French-speaking world to interact in simple situation.  

 

Prerequisites: All Beginner levels.

 

This conversational course focuses on communication skills. Students will practice all the topics they took during the Pre-Intermediate 1 levels, through a variety of fun activities,  including role-play and replicate situations. 

Students will develop greater fluency in expressing themselves and interacting with French speakers. They will gain language accuracy and hone their oral skills to interact effectively in a variety of situations. 

 

 Prerequisites: Intermediate 1 level.

 

At this level, the students deepen their class knowledge of vocabulary and grammar through discussing and presenting various topics. They engage in debates and with real-world situations and are asked to offer opinions. This course equips the students with the linguistic and cultural skills to discuss more complicated subjects, texts, songs, or authentic videos, as well as to take part in conversations with native speakers. By the end of this course, students will have broken the barrier between the “textbook” French and the idiomatic language of native speakers.  

 

 

 Prerequisites: Intermediate 2 level.
