If you wish to learn basic Turkish without committing to a longer, regular program, this 20-hour course is ideal for you! It is designed to equip students with the linguistic competence to understand and use daily expressions to meet immediate needs. You will practice greeting people, introducing yourself and others, sharing personal information, interacting in a café or restaurant, navigating around town, and shopping. Classroom activities will enable you to utilize vocabulary, ask questions, and engage in everyday conversations.

Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of Turkish is required.

Materials: The instructor will provide all necessary learning materials. No textbook is required for this course.

This beginner's course is perfect for those planning a visit to Turkey and wanting to acquire essential language skills. No prior knowledge is required, and grammatical terminology is kept to a minimum and explained in simple terms when necessary.

The topics covered include greetings, the Turkish alphabet and numbers, family members, daily life, neighbors, and basic question words. Cultural topics cover the language family Turkish belongs to, its connections with European and Middle Eastern languages, appropriate titles and greetings, Turkish snacks and drinks, and reading signs. Skills development focuses on speaking activities, conversations about climate and months, listening exercises, writing practice, pronunciation rules, and the pronunciation of letters in the alphabet. By the end of the course, you will have a solid, basic foundation in the Turkish language.

This course is designed for students who have completed the Beginner 1 course or with basic knowledge of Turkish. It is ideal for those seeking to deepen their understanding of the language to communicate effectively in various everyday situations. Building on Beginner 1, this course will further enhance your reading, writing, and conversational abilities. You will learn the Simple Present and Future tenses, as well as grammatical structures such as gerunds and conjunctions. Lessons will include listening and reading exercises to improve communication in daily contexts and facilitate conversations on diverse topics.

The course topics cover possessions and hobbies, describing locations and city tours, communication, and holiday planning. Skills development focuses on speaking activities, listening exercises, and writing practice. Moreover, you will learn to use active verbs, auxiliary verbs, participles, indirect speech, causative gerunds, and gerunds of time.
